She returned home to the Big Apple after her bikini-filled Mexican vacation to focus on her new project amid all the attention coming her way in the wake of her split from Sam Mendes. Kate and Sam have been doing their best to keep things normal for their kids Mia and Joe, and her getting back to work might help in establishing a new routine.

Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes once again put up a united front bringing their kids Joe and Mia to school in NYC this morning. The foursome’s daily routine has been documented more than ever recently since Sam and Kate announced their split last month. Immediately after the news hit, Kate was far away from their Manhattan home — instead lounging in bikinis off the coast of Mexico — but she couldn’t avoid the attention for long. Still, there’s something to be said for Kate and Sam keeping it civil, especially when there are already frequent rumors about other women as he casts the latest Bond girl and apparently has his eye on ex Rachel Weisz.

Kate’s been back in the Big Apple for just over a week following her bikini-filled vacation in Mexico, where she kept a low profile as news about her split from Sam hit headlines. Kate will soon get back to work on Mildred Pierce, but for now she and Sam are enjoying their kids’ Spring break as much as they can during a time of big change.

Following the shock news of her split from husband Sam Mendes, reports are circulating that Kate Winslet may move back to the UK.

“The people she’s close to in New York are mums in schools but she thinks that will all change and her real friends – Emma Thompson, her sister Anna and her parents – are all over here,” a source tells the Daily Mail.

“Kate feels she needs a support system, but she is torn because doesn’t want to disrupt her kids and is able to be very low key in New York.” The Oscar-winner has lived in the Big Apple with her two children and husband Sam for seven years.

Meanwhile, as reports suggest Kate had become “frustrated” about the relationship between her husband and actress Rebecca Hall, a source close to Sam insists there was nothing but friendship between them.

“Sam and Rebecca are good friends, of course they are, they have spent the better part of a year working together on the Bridge Project. But to insinuate that there is anything further in the friendship is taking it too far.”
